Whether you're a parent struggling to accept your gay or lesbian child or you are gay or lesbian and wondering how to tell your parents about your sexuality, PFLAG Nashville is here to support you, regardless of your stage in the journey.

PFLAG is about love and acceptance, and if that's what you're looking for, you've found the right place. Please feel welcome here.

Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays provides opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity. We are committed to helping others learn what we have learned, to help change attitudes, and to create an environment of understanding so that all gay people can live with dignity and respect.

We invite you to share in our knowledge, to be free from fear, and to reach out, search, and discover more about being human.

Parents of the GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender) community are encouraged to call us to talk, ask questions, and especially to attend our meetings. There, participants find a confidential, warm, and supportive setting where you can share your concerns with others and find comfort and reassurance about your loved ones. PFLAG offers a wonderful opportunity for families, friends, and the GLBT community to learn and grow together.

Founded in 1972 by Jeanne Manford in New York City, Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) has grown into a national non-profit organization with over 200,000 members and supporters and over 500 affiliate chapters in the United States. This vast grassroots network is cultivated, resourced and serviced by the PFLAG national office, located in Washington, D.C., the national Board of Directors and 14 Regional Directors.

PFLAG is not affiliated with any ethnic, religious, economic, or political group. Our purpose is to confidentially help families and friends to understand and accept homosexuality, while helping to raise awareness and acceptance in the community.
